If you no longer require a replication pair to implement geo-disaster recovery for disk data, you can delete the replication pair to release resources. When you delete a replication pair, the system does not delete disks or disk data. This topic describes how to delete a replication pair.
Limitation
If a replication pair is already added to a replication pair-consistent group, you cannot delete the replication pair. To delete the replication pair, you must remove the replication pair from the replication pair-consistent group. For more information, see the Remove all replication pairs from the replication pair-consistent group step of the "Delete a replication pair-consistent group" topic.
Procedure
If the system is replicating data from the primary disk to the secondary disk in a replication pair when you delete the replication pair, the data on the secondary disk is automatically restored to the state when the previous asynchronous replication is complete. Data replicated to the secondary disk in the ongoing asynchronous replication at the time of replication pair deletion is lost. Proceed with caution when you delete a replication pair.
Log on to the Elastic Block Storage (EBS) console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
Stop the replication pair.
When you delete a replication pair, the replication pair must be in the Stopped state. If the replication pair is not in the Stopped state, stop the replication pair first. In the replication pair list, find the replication pair that you want to stop and click Stop in the Actions column.
Delete the replication pair.
In the replication pair list, find the replication pair that you want to delete and choose in the Actions column. Follow the on-screen instructions to delete the replication pair.
