Identify why purchased ECS instances do not appear in the console and apply the corresponding fix.
Problem
You purchased an ECS instance but cannot find it in the instance list.
Possible causes

The instance is not in the selected region.

Wrong product console selected.

The account is incorrect or lacks permissions.

The instance has expired or been released due to overdue payment.
-
A refund was issued because of insufficient resources.
Solution
The resource is not in the current region
If you have not switched to the region where the instance resides, you cannot find it. Use either method below to verify.

Switch the region at the top of the ECS console. Regions that contain instances are listed in the region selector.

View the region distribution of your instances on the ECS Overview page.

Wrong product console selected
The resource you purchased may be a Simple Application Server or another product rather than an ECS instance. Use either method below to verify.
Incorrect account or insufficient permissions

Incorrect Alibaba Cloud account: Multiple Alibaba Cloud accounts may have been logged into from the same browser, causing the wrong account to be active.

Logged in as a RAM user without permissions

Log on to the RAM console and verify that the RAM user has one of the following ECS system policies:

Management permissions (AliyunECSFullAccess)

Read-only permissions (AliyunECSReadOnlyAccess)

If you use a custom policy with tag-based authorization, locate the target instance and verify that its tags match the policy.

Instance expired or released due to overdue payment
Instances with overdue payments or that have expired are automatically released after a period. Released instances cannot be recovered. Check release notifications in the Message Center.
Refund due to insufficient resources
Insufficient resources in the zone may trigger an automatic refund. Verify through My Orders.
If this occurs, create a new instance in another zone.
