Cloud Phone:Create and manage networks

Last Updated:Feb 28, 2026

Each cloud phone instance runs inside a network, which is a private network based on Alibaba Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). The network determines the maximum number of cloud phone instances it can hold, controls Internet access permissions, and manages other settings.

Network types

Cloud Phone supports two network types:

  • VPC: The system does not allocate public IP addresses to cloud phone instances. Public Android Debug Bridge (ADB) is supported.

  • Shared network: Includes free basic bandwidth with a peak bandwidth of 5 Mbps per cloud phone. Suitable for use cases with low Internet requirements. Public ADB is not supported.

Basic and advanced shared networks

Shared networks come in two subtypes. The following table compares them.

Feature Basic shared network Advanced shared network
Setup Simple, out-of-the-box configuration Configurable advanced settings for more control
Best for Small deployments without special requirements Large deployments or custom configuration needs (such as custom CIDR blocks)
Maximum cloud phone instances 50 No limit
Connection methods The Internet The Internet and VPC
Custom IPv4 CIDR block Not supported Supported
Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) association Not supported Supported

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that you have:

  • An Alibaba Cloud account with the required permissions

  • (VPC manual creation only) An existing VPC in the target region. If none exists, create one in the VPC console

Create a VPC network

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network & Security > Network.

  3. On the Network page, click Create Network.

  4. In the Create Network dialog box, select one of the following methods.

    Automatic creation

The system automatically creates a VPC. No manual setup is required.

    1. On the New tab, select the region where you want to create the network.

    2. (Optional) Enable Internet Access is selected by default. Clear this option if Internet access is not needed.

      Note

When Enable Internet Access is selected, the system automatically provisions a NAT Gateway and an Elastic IP Address (EIP), both billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. For pricing details, see NAT Gateway billing and EIP pay-as-you-go.

    3. Click Create Now.

    Manual creation

Use an existing VPC from the VPC console.

    1. On the Manual Creation tab, select the region where you want to create the network.

    2. Enter a network name.

    3. Select an existing VPC and click Create Now.

      Note

If no VPCs are available in the selected region, click Create VPC to create one in the VPC console.

Manage Internet access for a VPC

Enable or disable Internet access to control whether cloud phone instances in a VPC network can reach the Internet.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network & Security > Network.

  3. On the Network page, find the target network and perform one of the following actions in the Actions column:

    • Enable Internet access: Click Enable Internet Access, then click Enable Now in the confirmation dialog box.

      Note

When Enable Internet Access is selected, the system automatically provisions a NAT Gateway and an Elastic IP Address (EIP), both billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. For pricing details, see NAT Gateway billing and EIP pay-as-you-go.

    • Disable Internet access: Click Disable Internet Access, then click OK in the confirmation dialog box.

After you disable Internet access, all cloud phone instances in the network lose Internet connectivity. Related resources (EIP, NAT, and SNAT) are automatically released and billing stops.

Enable IPv6 for a VPC

VPC networks use IPv4 by default. To add IPv6 support, see Enable IPv6 for an existing VPC.

Create and manage shared networks

Cloud Phone and Elastic Desktop Service (EDS) Enterprise share the same network system. Create and manage shared networks in the EDS Enterprise console:

Delete a network

Delete networks that are no longer in use.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network & Security > Network.

  3. On the Network page, find the target network and click Delete in the Actions column.

    Note

A network can only be deleted when it is not associated with any cloud phone, cloud computer, or cloud application. Remove all associated resources before deleting the network.
