Cloud Phone:Create and manage premium bandwidth

Last Updated:Dec 11, 2025

Cloud Phone shared networks come with a free-of-charge basic bandwidth with a peak value of 5 Mbps. If you have higher network bandwidth requirements, you can create and use premium bandwidth.

Background

Cloud Phone networks include two types: basic bandwidth and premium bandwidth. The differences are shown in the following table.

Type

Description

Use cases

Basic bandwidth

Cloud Phone instances cannot access the Internet through your on-premises device's network. If the network type is shared network, it comes with free basic bandwidth with a peak value of 5 Mbps, allowing end users to access the Internet on Cloud Phone instances.

Use cases with no large traffic or no high speed requirements.

Premium bandwidth

You can customize the peak bandwidth value, and you have exclusive bandwidth and exclusive IP address. Creating and using premium bandwidth incurs fees.

Business use cases that require stable network bandwidth.

Create premium bandwidth

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network & Security > Premium Bandwidth Plan.

  3. On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, click Purchase Premium Bandwidth Plan.

  4. On the Cloud Phone - Purchase Premium Bandwidth Plan page, set the parameters as described in the following table.

    Billing Method

This parameter is displayed if Payment Method is set to Pay-as-you-go. Options:

    • Pay-by-data-transfer: Billing is based on the accumulated value of inbound traffic in the Cloud Phone. Outbound traffic is not billed. Recommended for business use cases with low daily traffic and large traffic fluctuations only during a few peak periods.

      Note
      • Inbound traffic is downstream traffic from the Internet to the Cloud Phone, such as downloading files from the Internet in the Cloud Phone or playing website videos in the Cloud Phone browser.

      • Outbound traffic is upstream traffic from the Cloud Phone to the Internet, such as uploading files from the Cloud Phone to third-party services.

    • Pay-by-bandwidth: The peak bandwidth value determines the hourly unit price, regardless of the actual bandwidth used. Recommended for business use cases that require stable network bandwidth but have variable usage frequency.

      Note

With this billing method selected, if you do not want to use a premium bandwidth plan any more, delete the premium bandwidth plan promptly.

Associate or disassociate office network

When a premium bandwidth plan is associated with an office network, Cloud Phone instances in the network use premium bandwidth to access the Internet. After disassociation, the public bandwidth of the office network automatically changes back to basic bandwidth.

Associate network

When creating a premium bandwidth plan, you need to select a network to associate by default. After the premium bandwidth plan is successfully created, it is automatically associated with the selected network.

If you find that the status of the premium bandwidth plan is Not Associated, associate a network with the premium bandwidth plan to avoid waste.

Note

A premium bandwidth plan can only be associated with one network.

For example: To associate a premium bandwidth plan that is already associated with network A to network B, you need to first disassociate the premium bandwidth plan from network A, then associate the premium bandwidth plan with network B.

  1. On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth plan.

  2. In the Actions column, click Associate Office Network.

  3. In the Associate Office Network dialog box, select a network from the drop-down list.

  4. Click OK.

When the status of the premium bandwidth changes from Changing to In Use, the network is successfully associated.

Disassociate network

Important

The impacts of the disassociation are as follows:

  • The public bandwidth of the network automatically changes from premium bandwidth to basic bandwidth, and the public access control settings remain unchanged.

  • You can associate this premium bandwidth plan with other networks that have not yet been associated with a premium bandwidth plan.

  • The configured Internet speed limit rules will be automatically purged.

  • Disassociating the network does not stop billing. To stop billing, delete the premium bandwidth plan.

  1. On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth plan.

  2. In the Actions column, click Disassociate Office Network.

  3. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

Renew a subscription premium bandwidth plan

Subscription premium bandwidth plans have a expiration date. Renew them before expiration to avoid affecting business operations.

You can enable auto-renewal when creating a premium bandwidth plan, or manually renew after purchasing a premium bandwidth plan.

  1. On the Premium Bandwidth Plan page, find the target premium bandwidth plan.

  2. In the Actions column, click Renew.

  3. On the Cloud Phone - Renew Premium Bandwidth Plan page, select the renewal duration.

Supported durations are: 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years.
