Cloud Phone:Create and manage apps

Once your app is created, you can deploy it to individual cloud phone instances or across specific instance groups. This topic describes how to create and manage apps, covering installation, uninstallation, and app status control.

Create apps

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Applications & Files > Application.

  3. On the Application page, click Create Application.

  4. In the Create Application panel, configure the following parameters as needed.

    Name

    The name of the app, which can be up to 32 characters in length. The name can contain letters, digits, colons (:), underscores (_), periods (.), and hyphens (-). It can start with a letter but cannot start with http:// or https://.

    DingTalk

    Regions

    The region where the app is available. When you install an app on a cloud phone instance, you can only select the app in the region to which the instance belongs.

    China (Hangzhou)

    Description

    A brief introduction about the purpose and features of the app.

    Office Communications

    Application Icon

    The icon of the app. You can click Upload Local File to select the icon that you want to upload.

    Note

    You can upload a .jpg, .jpeg, .png .gif .webp .bmp or .wbmp image. The image size cannot exceed 1 MB.

    Upload Resource

    The resource that you want to upload. You can click Upload Local File to select a file that meets your business requirements.

    Important

    Obtain app packages only from official app stores or trusted third-party sources.

    Note

    You can upload only .apk files. The file size cannot exceed 5 GB.

  5. Select I have read and agree to Non-Infringement Commitment and Disclaimer and click OK.

Install apps

You can install a pre-configured app on an individual cloud phone instance or across a designated instance group.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Applications & Files > Application.

  3. On the Application page, select a region from the region drop-down list.

  4. Find the desired app and click Install Application in the Actions column.

  5. In the Install Application panel, perform one of the following operations as needed and click Start Installing:

    • Install on individual cloud phone instances: In the Select Object section, select Instance and then select one or more cloud phone instances from the list.

      Note

      For a single batch operation, a maximum of 1,000 instances can be selected.

    • Install across designated instance groups: In the Select Object section, select Instance Group and then select one or more instance groups from the list.

  6. In the message that appears, click OK.

    You can view the task progress on the Task Center page.

Uninstall apps

If an app is no longer needed on a cloud phone instance, you can uninstall it.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Applications & Files > Application.

  3. On the Application page, select a region from the Region drop-down list.

  4. Find the desired app and click Uninstall Application in the Actions column.

  5. In the Uninstall panel, perform one of the following operations as needed and click OK:

    • Uninstall from individual cloud phone instances: In the Select Object section, select Instance and then select one or more cloud phone instances from the list.

    • Uninstall from designated instance groups: In the Select Object section, select Instance Group and then select one or more instance groups from the list.

  6. In the message that appears, click OK.

    You can view the task progress on the Task Center page.

Manage app status

You can manage the status of installed apps by starting, restarting, or stopping them.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Applications & Files > Application.

  3. On the Application page, find the desired app, click the ⋮ icon in the Actions column, and then select Start Application, Restart Application, or Stop Application

  4. In the panel that appears, select one or more cloud phone instances and click OK.

    Note

    If the app is not installed on the selected cloud phone instances, the operation will fail.

    You can view the task progress on the Task Center page.

Delete apps

If you no longer require an app, you can delete it. Once an app is deleted, it cannot be reinstalled on any cloud phone instance or across any instance group.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Applications & Files > Application.

  3. On the Application page, find the app that you want to delete and click Delete in the Actions column. In the message that appears, click OK.

    Note

    Deleting an app does not impact the apps already installed on cloud phone instances. To delete an app already installed on cloud phone instances, uninstall it first. For more information, see Uninstall apps.
