Elastic High Performance Computing:Update ehpcutil

Last Updated:Apr 26, 2024

If the early version of your Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) cluster client (ehpcutil) cannot meet your business requirements, you can update ehpcutil to the latest version. After you update ehpcutil, you can also roll back ehpcutil to an early version.

Important

We recommend that you update ehpcutil during off-peak hours and make sure that no scale-in is in progress.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  4. On the Cluster page, find the cluster for which you want to update ehpcutil and click Details on the right section that corresponds to the cluster.

  5. In the Version Information of ehpcutil section of the Cluster Details page, update or roll back ehpcutil based on your requirements.

    • To update ehpcutil, click Upgrade ehpcutil.

After the update is completed, you can check whether the current ehpcutil version is updated in the Version Information of ehpcutil section. You can also log on to the cluster and run the ls -l /usr/local/ehpc command to check the current ehpcutil version.

      Note

Updating ehpcutil requires about 5 minutes. The duration varies based on the number of nodes that are deployed in your cluster.

    • To roll back ehpcutil to an early version, click View Update History. In the panel that appears, find the corresponding update record and click Roll back to X.X.X.
