If you no longer require a cluster, you can release the cluster to avoid unnecessary costs. This topic describes how to release a cluster in the Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) console.
Prerequisites
The cluster data is backed up.
After the cluster is released, you cannot restore the data stored in the cluster. Exercise caution when you release a cluster.
Background information
After a cluster is released, the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances used as cluster nodes are released or retained based on their validity status and billing method. Pay-as-you-go instances and expired subscription instances are automatically released while non-expired subscription instances are retained. If you want to release the non-expired subscription instances as well, you must change their billing method to pay-as-you-go first. For more information, see Change the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go.
Procedure
Go to the Cluster List page.
Log on to the E-HPC console.
In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.
On the Cluster page, find the cluster that you want to release and choose in the upper-right corner.
In the Deleting a Cluster dialog box that appears, click OK.
