Elastic High Performance Computing:Release a cluster

Last Updated:Apr 23, 2025

If you no longer require a cluster, you can release the cluster to avoid unnecessary costs. This topic describes how to release a cluster in the Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) console.

Prerequisites

The cluster data is backed up.

Important

After the cluster is released, you cannot restore the data stored in the cluster. Exercise caution when you release a cluster.

Background information

After a cluster is released, the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances used as cluster nodes are released or retained based on their validity status and billing method. Pay-as-you-go instances and expired subscription instances are automatically released while non-expired subscription instances are retained. If you want to release the non-expired subscription instances as well, you must change their billing method to pay-as-you-go first. For more information, see Change the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Cluster List page.

    1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

    2. In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.

    3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  2. On the Cluster page, find the cluster that you want to release and choose 集群更多按钮.png > Release the cluster in the upper-right corner.

  3. In the Deleting a Cluster dialog box that appears, click OK.

You can also call an API operation to delete a cluster. For more information, see DeleteCluster.
