Elastic High Performance Computing:Install and uninstall cluster addons

This topic describes how to install and uninstall an addon for an Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) cluster in the E-HPC console.

Prerequisites

  • The cluster is in the Running state.

  • A cluster may be of one of the following types:

    • Public cloud standard cluster

    • Public cloud managed cluster

Install an addon

  1. Go to the Cluster Details page.

    1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

    2. In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.

    3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

    4. On the Cluster List page, find the cluster that you want to manage and click the Cluster Name.

  2. On the Cluster Details page, click the Custom Services tab.

  3. In the upper-left corner, click Add Addon.

  4. In the Service Component Add dialog box, click the Select Service Components drop-down list and select the desired addon.

    Note

    Currently, only the Login addon is supported. By default, Login is configured for both standard and managed clusters on the public cloud to facilitate connection to clusters over the Internet.

  5. Click OK.

    On the Custom Services tab, click the 2024-07-31_11-49-59 refresh icon. If the status of the new logon node is Running, the installation is successful.

Uninstall an addon

Important

A deleted logon node cannot be recovered. Exercise caution when you perform this operation.

  1. Go to the Cluster Details page.

    1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

    2. In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.

    3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

    4. On the Cluster List page, find the cluster that you want to manage and click the Cluster Name.

  2. On the Cluster Details page, click the Custom Services tab.

  3. Find the addon that you want to uninstall, and in the upper-right corner of its section, click Delete.

  4. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, click OK.

    On the Custom Services tab, click the 2024-07-31_11-49-59 refresh icon. If the addon no longer appears, the uninstallation is successful.
