Elastic High Performance Computing:Install and uninstall custom services for a cluster

Install or uninstall the Login addon for your E-HPC cluster. The Login addon lets you connect to your cluster over the internet and is configured by default on both standard and managed clusters.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • Your cluster is in the Running state

  • Your cluster is one of the following types:

    • Public cloud standard cluster

    • Public cloud managed cluster

Install an addon

Note

Currently, only the Login addon is supported.

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  4. On the Cluster List page, find the cluster and click its cluster ID to open the Cluster Details page.

  5. Click the Custom Services tab.

  6. Click Add Addon in the upper-left corner.

  7. In the Service Component Add dialog box, select an addon from the Select Service Components drop-down list, then click Confirm.

Result: On the Custom Services tab, click 2024-07-31_11-49-59 to refresh the page. If the addon appears in the Running state, the installation is complete.

Uninstall an addon

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  4. On the Cluster List page, find the cluster and click its cluster ID to open the Cluster Details page.

  5. Click the Custom Services tab.

  6. Find the addon to uninstall and click Delete in the upper-right corner.

    Important

    A deleted login node cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution.

  7. In the confirmation message, click OK.

Result: On the Custom Services tab, click 2024-07-31_11-49-59 to refresh the page. If the addon no longer appears, the uninstallation is complete.
