    Elastic High Performance Computing:Use VNC for remote visualization

    Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) provides a VNC remote visualization feature that lets you access a remote graphical interface from the web-based console. You can connect to or stop the visualization service as needed.

    Prerequisites

    The VNC service is installed. You can install it in one of the following ways:

    • When creating a new cluster, you can enable the VNC feature on the Application Configuration page. The system automatically installs the VNC service.

    • For an existing cluster, you can install the VNC service on the Software Manage page. For more information, see Install software.

    Connect to the visualization service

    1. Log in to the Elastic High Performance Computing console.

    2. In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.

    3. In the navigation pane on the left, click Cluster.

    4. On the Cluster page, find the target cluster and choose More > VNC.

    5. (Optional) Change the connection password.

      If you are using the visualization service for the first time, change the password. Follow these steps:

      1. In the visualization window, click Modify password.

      2. In the Modify password dialog box, enter the cluster user password and your new connection password.

      3. Click OK.

    6. Start the visualization service.

      If you are using the visualization service for the first time, start the service first. Follow these steps:

      1. In the visualization window, click Start Service.

      2. In the Start Service dialog box, click OK.

    7. Connect to the visualization service.

      1. In the visualization window, click Connect.

        Note

        When you connect to the cluster's visualization service for the first time, accept its security certificate. The service uses a self-signed certificate to ensure the integrity and security of connection data.

        1. In the Input Password dialog box, click LINK to accept the certificate.

        2. In the new browser tab that opens, accept the security exception.

          • If you use the Chrome browser, click Premium > Proceed to.

          • If you use the Firefox browser, click Premium > Add Exception.

      2. In the Input Password text box, enter the password and click OK.

    Stop the visualization service

    1. Log in to the Elastic High Performance Computing console.

    2. In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.

    3. In the navigation pane on the left, click Cluster.

    4. On the Cluster page, find the target cluster and choose More > VNC.

    5. In the visualization window, click Stop Service.

    6. In the Stop Service dialog box, click OK.
