In a DTS dedicated cluster, each task is allocated a number of DTS units (DUs) that determine its throughput capacity. If a task's performance no longer meets your business requirements, allocate more DUs to increase its capacity.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure that:
-
A task is already running in a DTS dedicated cluster. To create a task, see Configure a data migration task, Configure a data synchronization task, or Configure a change tracking task
-
The task has passed the precheck and is in the running state (not in the Completed or Paused state)
Risks and recommendations
Modifying the DU count causes the task to restart immediately. To minimize risk, schedule this change during off-peak hours.
Before modifying the DU count, review the performance specifications to choose the right number of DUs for your workload. See Performance specifications of tasks that run in a DTS dedicated cluster.
If source data changes while the task restarts, the following impacts apply:
| Task type | Impact during restart |
|---|---|
| Data migration | Data may be temporarily inconsistent between the source and destination databases. Consistency is restored after the task restarts and processes the incremental data generated during the restart. |
| Data synchronization | Data may be temporarily inconsistent between the source and destination databases. Consistency is restored after the task restarts and processes the incremental data generated during the restart. |
| Change tracking | The task may fail to track incremental data during the restart period. Tracking resumes after the task returns to the running state. |
Modify the DU count for a task
-
Go to the Dedicated Cluster page.
-
In the top navigation bar, select the region where your DTS dedicated cluster resides.
-
On the Cluster Task page, click the name of your DTS dedicated cluster.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster Task List.
-
Select the task type, then locate the target task in the filtered list.

-
In the Actions column, click the
icon and select Change DU. -
In the New Instance Class section, set the new DU count.
-
Select the check box to agree to the Data Transmission Service (Pay-as-you-go) Service Terms.
-
Click OK.
The task restarts immediately. The new DU count takes effect when the task returns to the running state.
