Data Transmission Service:Modify the number of DUs for a task in a DTS dedicated cluster

Last Updated:Apr 26, 2026

The performance of a Data Transmission Service (DTS) dedicated cluster task is determined by its number of DUs. If a task's specifications are inadequate, you can increase its DUs to improve performance.

Prerequisites

Usage notes

After you modify the number of DUs for a DTS dedicated cluster task, the task automatically restarts. We recommend that you perform this operation during off-peak hours. If data in the source database changes while the task is restarting, the following issues may occur:

  • Data synchronization task: Data may become inconsistent between the source and destination databases.

  • Data migration task: Data may become inconsistent between the source and destination databases.

  • Change tracking task: The task may fail to capture incremental data.

After the task restarts and processes the incremental data, it restores data consistency for data synchronization and data migration tasks. Change tracking tasks can then retrieve any incremental data generated during the restart.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Dedicated Cluster page.

  2. Find the task for which you want to modify the number of DUs.

    1. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the DTS dedicated cluster resides.

    2. In the Cluster Task list, click the name of the target dedicated cluster.

    3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster Task List.

    4. Click the drop-down list to filter tasks.

    5. In the filtered task list, find the task for which you want to modify the number of DUs.

  3. In the Actions column for the target task, click > Change DU.

  4. In the New Instance Class section, modify the number of DUs.

    Note

For more information about the relationship between the number of DUs and task performance, see Specifications of dedicated cluster tasks.

  5. Read and select the Data Transmission Service (Pay-as-you-go) Service Terms checkbox.

  6. Click OK.

The dedicated cluster task restarts immediately. The change takes effect after the task returns to a running state.
