Data Transmission Service:Fix a failed data migration task

Fix schema migration failures

DTS supports data migration between heterogeneous data sources. A task may fail during schema migration if unsupported data types are migrated to the destination.

1. Log on to the DTS console.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Data Migration.
3. On the Migration Tasks page, select the region of the data migration task.
4. Use one of the following methods to fix the task:
   • Method 1
     1. Find the target migration task and click View Cause and Rectify.
     2. In the dialog box, fix the issue as instructed. For example, modify the schema definition syntax.
     3. Click Restart Task.
   • Method 2
     1. Click the ID of the target migration task.
     2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Migration Details > Schema Migration.
     3. On the Schema Migration page, click Rectify for the relevant object.
     4. In the Rectify dialog box, fix the issue as instructed. For example, modify the schema definition syntax.
     5. Click Rectify.
        Note

        • If the fix fails, the Rectify dialog box remains open and displays the failure reason. Continue fixing until the fix succeeds.
        • If the fix succeeds, you return to the Schema Migration page, and the object status changes to Complete.
5. After all failed objects are fixed, DTS automatically resumes the task and proceeds to the next phase, such as full data migration.

Fix full data migration failures

1. Log on to the DTS console.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Data Migration.
3. On the Migration Tasks page, select the region of the data migration task.
4. Find the target migration task and click View Cause and Rectify.
5. In the dialog box, fix the issue as instructed.
6. After the issue is fixed, click Restart Task.
