Data Transmission Service (DTS) supports data synchronization only within a single country or region by default. To create a cross-border synchronization task, for example from the Chinese mainland to a region outside the Chinese mainland, you must apply for the cross-border data synchronization permission first.
Without this permission, you cannot select a cross-border destination region after you select a source region on the DTS buy page.
Limitations
-
Cross-border data synchronization must comply with the data security policies of the source and destination regions.
-
You must read and comply with the Alibaba Cloud Legal & Privacy Policy before you perform cross-border data synchronization.
-
You must use your Alibaba Cloud account (root account) to apply for the permission.
-
DTS does not support cross-border bidirectional data synchronization.
-
If you configure a cross-region or cross-border data synchronization or data migration task, ensure that the task bandwidth does not exceed 100 Mbit/s. A cross-region or cross-border task is one that you directly configure on the DTS console, such as a task that replicates data from an ApsaraDB RDS instance in the Singapore region to one in the China (Hangzhou) region. For a definition of cross-region and cross-border, see Cross-border and cross-region synchronization. If your bandwidth requirement exceeds 100 Mbit/s, use Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) to configure the cross-region network bandwidth before you configure the DTS task.
-
If the data synchronization or data migration task that you configure involves cross-border and cross-region operations, ensure that the task bandwidth does not exceed 100 Mbit/s. If your bandwidth requirement exceeds 100 Mbit/s, use CEN to configure the cross-region network bandwidth and then configure the DTS task.
NoteA cross-region or cross-border task is a task that you configure on the DTS console. For example, a task that synchronizes data from an ApsaraDB RDS instance in the Singapore region to an ApsaraDB RDS instance in the China (Hangzhou) region.
