Data Transmission Service:Resolve connection errors to DTS over CEN

Last Updated:Sep 23, 2026

This topic describes how to resolve connection errors when connecting a source or destination database instance to Data Transmission Service (DTS) over Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN).

Notes

For other questions about Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN), contact CEN technical support. For more information about CEN, see What is Cloud Enterprise Network?.

Procedure

  1. Collect instance information

    Collect the following instance information:

    Parameter Description
Instance Region The region where the self-managed database instance resides.
CEN Instance ID The ID of the CEN instance used for the connection.
VPC connected to the source database The ID of the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) that is connected to the self-managed database instance.
IP address The private IP address of the self-managed database instance.
Port The service port of the self-managed database instance.
  2. Get the IP address ranges for DTS servers.

Find the DTS server IP address ranges corresponding to your instance's region and connection method: Add the IP address ranges of DTS servers to the IP whitelist of a self-managed database. You will need this list for the next step.

  3. Check the security settings of the self-managed database instance.

You must add all IP address ranges of the DTS servers that you obtained to your self-managed database instance's security settings to allow access from DTS servers. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Security groups of the self-managed database.

    • Firewall of the self-managed database.

    • IP whitelist of the self-managed database.

  4. Check routing from cloud to database

Verify that your database instance can be accessed from the specified VPC connected to the source database. Then, contact CEN technical support with the collected instance information.

  5. Check routing from database to cloud

Check your on-premises data center devices to verify that packets destined for the DTS server CIDR blocks are routed back to CEN. If so, contact CEN technical support with the collected instance information.
