Data Map allows you to search for tables by table name, table description, field name, and field description. You can also filter tables by category, project, and data source.

Prerequisites

If your DataWorks workspace is bound to a MaxCompute project, you can directly search for the tables in the project by using Data Map. If your DataWorks workspace is bound to a compute engine of another type, you must use the metadata collection feature to import the metadata of data sources to Data Map before you can search for tables by using Data Map. For more information, see Data discovery.

Go to the details page of a table

  1. Log on to the DataWorks console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Workspaces.
  3. Find the required workspace and click Data Analytics in the Actions column.
  4. On the page that appears, click the More icon icon in the upper-left corner and choose All Products > Data governance > DataMap.
  5. In the top navigation bar, click All Data.
  6. Find the card for the table that you want to view and click the table name to go to the table details page.
    The table details page displays the basic information and lineage information about the table, and allows you to preview the table data.

2 You can filter tables by conditions such as category, database, owner, and project. The filter conditions displayed on the page vary based on the selected compute engine type. For information about how to configure table categories, see Manage table categories.
Note If you select the MaxCompute compute engine type, you can also filter tables by environment and owner. If you select another compute engine type such as E-MapReduce and CDH Hive, you can also filter tables by cluster.
