Data Management:Notification: Unpublishing the backup data query feature of DBS

Last Updated:Aug 27, 2026

Due to adjustments in DBS capabilities, Data Disaster Recovery will gradually phase out the features on the backup data query page starting in May 2024.

Background

This phase-out is due to the gradual discontinuation of the Data Lake Analytics (DLA) service, which began on a region-by-region basis on January 1, 2024. Because the backup data query feature of Data Disaster Recovery is tightly integrated with DLA, it directly queries backup data files stored in OSS. This feature allows users to select a target backup set, create a data lake, and then query data from different backup sets using SQL statements in the offline data lake. However, because the DLA service is being discontinued, the backup data query feature of Data Disaster Recovery will also be gradually phased out starting in May 2024. For more information, see Notification: Stopping the Sale of Data Lake Analytics (DLA).

Offline Time

Gradual unpublishing will start in May 2024.

Impacts

After the backup data query page is unpublished, its features will become unavailable. The related documentation will also be unpublished.

Recommendations

If you are using the DBS backup data query feature, take note of the unpublishing plan.
