This notice only affects invalid domain name resolution in Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Authoritative DNS Free Edition service. It does not affect Alibaba Cloud Domain Name registration service.
Effective time
November 16, 2024, at 00:00 (UTC+8), the system will begin detecting invalid DNS domain name resolution data.
December 16, 2024, at 00:00 (UTC+8), the system will begin deleting invalid DNS domain name resolution data.

To enhance domain name resolution security and prevent malicious occupation of domain name resolution resources causing domain name addition conflicts, Cloud DNS - Public Authoritative DNS Free Edition service will begin detecting invalid DNS domain name resolution data in the system starting from November 16, 2024, at 00:00 (UTC+8), and will begin deleting invalid DNS domain name resolution data on December 16, 2024, at 00:00 (UTC+8).
1. Domain names and resolution data that are determined to be invalid for 30 consecutive calendar days will be deleted.
The following are the criteria for determining invalid DNS domain name resolution data. Both conditions must be met:
Using Cloud DNS - Public Authoritative DNS for domain names not registered with Alibaba Cloud;
The domain name's DNS server address is not set to point to Alibaba Cloud DNS Public Authoritative DNS server address.
We will continuously monitor your domain name DNS server address configuration information. On the 1st, 10th, and 20th day of being consecutively identified as invalid DNS domain name resolution data, the system will remind you through email, internal messages, and other channels to set the correct DNS server address for your domain name to avoid deletion of domain name resolution data. You can subscribe to Cloud DNS operation/important notifications in the Alibaba Cloud Management Console "Message Center".
2. If you want to continue keeping these domain names and their resolution record data in your account, you can do so before the system executes domain name resolution data deletion through the following method:
After configuring domain name resolution data in Alibaba Cloud DNS, set the domain name DNS server address at your domain registrar to the DNS server address assigned by Alibaba Cloud DNS system. For more information, see How to smoothly migrate domain name resolution to Alibaba Cloud DNS.
This deletion of invalid domain name resolution data does not affect the normal resolution of the domain name with other DNS service providers, will not affect the normal operation of your website or service, and does not affect the normal use of domain names registered with Alibaba Cloud.
