Alibaba Cloud DNS:DNS resolution template

Overview

DNS resolution templates let you add or modify the same set of DNS records for multiple domains at once.

Add a template

To add a template, first provide a name, and then add the required DNS records.

Procedure

1. Log on to Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone.

2. Click the Batch Operations button.

3. On the Batch Operations page, select the DNS Templates tab, and click Add Template.

4. Enter a template name and click Next.

5. Then click Add Hostname, select Record Type, fill in Hostname and Record Value, click OK, and then click Next.

6. Click Back to go back to the DNS Templates tab. click the Settings button in the row of the target template name, enter the domain name, and click OK. This action adds the DNS records from the template to the specified domains.

   Warning

   Applying a template replaces all existing DNS records (including those for subdomains) with the records from the template.

Modify a template

Follow the steps below to modify a template

Procedure

1. Log on to Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone.

2. Click the Batch Operations button.

3. On the Batch Operations page under the DNS Templates tab, click Edit on the right side of the target template. Modify Record Type, Hostname, Record Value, and click OK.

4. After modifying the record, reapply the template to the added domain names through Settings.

Delete a template

Procedure

1. Log on to Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone.

2. Click the Batch Operations button.

3. On the Batch Operations page under the DNS Templates tab, click Delete on the right side of the target template to delete the resolution template.
