This topic describes billing information for Domain Monitoring and how to query its usage.
Billing overview
Domain Monitoring uses the pay-as-you-go billing method.
Billable items: You are billed for the number of network probes and the number of text message alerts.
Billing cycle: Bills are generated daily.
Billing rules
Billable item | Pricing | Billing cycle | Description |
Number of network probes | USD 1.5 per 10,000 probes | Daily | A network probe is counted each time a probe node performs a protocol check on a monitoring target, such as a domain name or an IP address. A probe is billed regardless of whether the check succeeds or fails. |
Number of text message alerts (if any) | USD 0.225 per message | Daily | If you configure text message alerts, an alert message is sent to the specified contact when an alert event occurs. You are charged for each successfully sent text message. |
Cost estimation example
Assume that you have enabled DNS resolution monitoring for www.example.com.
The following NS addresses are configured for the domain name:
vip1.alidns.comvip2.alidns.com
The following metrics are enabled:
Monitor consistency between authoritative DNS resolution results and expected results (all NS addresses are probed)
Monitor consistency between probe node, local ISP resolution result and expected result
Probe frequency: 1 probe/minute
Probe nodes: China Mobile - Beijing, China Mobile - Shanghai
The estimated total number of network probes per month is calculated as follows: (2 authoritative DNS probes + 1 local carrier probe) × 2 nodes × 1 probe/minute × 60 minutes/hour × 24 hours/day × 30 days/month = 259,200 probes/month.
The estimated total number of text message alerts per month is calculated as follows: If 1 alert is generated per day, the total number of text message alerts per month is 1 message/day × 30 days/month = 30 messages/month.
Estimated total cost: Probe fees + Text message alert fees (if any) = USD 38.88 + USD 6.75 = USD 45.63.
Impact of overdue payments
Status | Impact |
If your account has an overdue payment | The service is automatically suspended:
|
Within 15 days after the payment becomes overdue | Probe tasks remain suspended, but your configurations are retained. After you pay the overdue amount, the service automatically resumes. You do not need to reconfigure any settings. |
If a payment is more than 15 days overdue | All Domain Monitoring configurations will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. |
Query usage
