Overview
When you perform forward traffic analysis, the forward module of the Private DNS service stays in a selected state, and the line connecting the region where DNS requests are initiated and the forward module becomes blue.
Forward traffic analysis allows you to analyze the DNS requests that match the forwarding rules of Private DNS. The analysis items include the trend of the numbers of DNS requests, the trend of DNS latency, the details about the number of DNS requests of a specific forward zone, the trend and details of the numbers of DNS requests for the subdomain names of a specific forward zone, and the number of DNS requests that are sent to external DNS systems.
Procedure
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Private DNS (PrivateZone). On the page that appears, click Traffic Analysis Mode in the upper-right corner and click the Forward Traffic tab.
Search criteria settings
You can query the results of forward traffic analysis by specifying a time range, network scope, or forward zone.
Time range: You can specify a time range to query data in a maximum of 90 days within the last one year. The numbers of DNS requests that are initiated within the last seven days from the current time can be displayed at the minute level.
Network scope: You can select virtual private clouds (VPCs) within your current account or within the account associated with your current account.
Forward zone: By default, the analysis results of all forward zones are queried. You can also specify a forward zone to narrow down the analysis results.

Analysis of the numbers of DNS requests
You can specify a time range to query the trend of the numbers of DNS requests for a forward zone within a specific network scope. You can also click the zoom icon in the upper-right corner to zoom in the analysis report. 
Analysis of DNS latency
You can specify a time range to query the trend of DNS latency for a forward zone within a specific network scope. You can also click the zoom icon in the upper-right corner to zoom in the analysis report.
Analysis of the numbers of DNS requests sent to external DNS systems
You can analyze the total number of DNS requests that are sent to external DNS systems with different IP addresses and the average DNS latency. You can sort the numbers of DNS requests in ascending or descending order.
Details of the numbers of DNS requests for forward zones
You can specify a time range to query the numbers of DNS requests for specific forward zones in exact search or fuzzy search mode. The numbers of DNS requests are sorted in descending order by default. You can also click the sort icon next to DNS Requests to switch the sorting order. 
Analysis reports of the numbers of DNS requests for subdomain names
You can click Details in the Actions column of a desired zone to view the analysis report of the numbers of DNS requests for the subdomain names of the zone.
You can also specify a time range and a subdomain name to query the analysis report of the numbers of DNS requests for this subdomain name.
