The lifecycle of a backup schedule determines how long the backup sets it generates are retained. Adjust the lifecycle to align backup data retention with your data protection and compliance requirements.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
A backup schedule created in the Data Disaster Recovery console, or a default physical backup schedule automatically generated for an ApsaraDB RDS instance connected to Data Disaster Recovery
Modify the lifecycle
Log on to the Data Management (DMS) console V5.0.
In the top navigation bar, choose Security and Specifications (DBS) > Data Disaster Recovery (DBS) > Backup Plan.
In simple mode, hover over the
icon in the upper-left corner and choose All Features > Security and Specifications (DBS) > Data Disaster Recovery (DBS) > Backup Plan.Find the backup schedule you want to update and click Manage in the Actions column. The Configure Task page appears.
In the Lifecycle Information section, click Edit Lifecycle.
Set the retention periods for full backup data and incremental backup data (7–3,650 days), then click Save.
ImportantAfter the retention period expires, backup sets are automatically deleted. If incremental backup is not enabled, you can only set a retention period for full backup data. To enable incremental backup, see Enable or disable incremental log backup.
