The Gateway List page opens by default after you log on to the Database Gateway console. The State column shows the current state of each gateway.
View gateway states
On the Gateway List page, find the gateway and check the State column.

| Gateway not started | No Database Gateway agent has been installed or started for this gateway. |
| Running | At least one Database Gateway agent is running properly. |
| Abnormal | Exceptions occurred on all Database Gateway agents of this gateway. |
| Stopped | All Database Gateway agents have been stopped. To restart a stopped agent, manually restart its process on the local machine. |
Modify a gateway
On the Gateway List page, find the gateway you want to modify:
To rename it, click the edit icon in the Gateway Name column.
To update its description, click the edit icon in the Note column.
Stop a gateway
On the Gateway List page, find the gateway, move the pointer over More in the Operation column, and click stop.
Delete a gateway
On the Gateway List page, find the gateway, move the pointer over More in the Operation column, and click Delete.
A running database gateway cannot be deleted. To delete a running gateway, stop it first, then log on with your Alibaba Cloud account to delete it.
Add a gateway node
Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
In the top navigation bar, click Solution. In the left-side navigation pane, click Database Gateway.
NoteIn simple mode, move the pointer over the
icon in the upper-left corner and choose All Features > Solution > Database Gateway.On the Gateway List page, find the gateway and click Detail in the Operation column.
On the Gateway details page, click Add gateway node. Select the download method for your operating system:
Windows: Click Download gateway.
Other operating systems: Copy and paste the command into the machine where you want to add the node, then press Enter to run it.
FAQ
How do I restart a gateway that is in the Stopped state?
Go to the Gateway details page, click Add gateway node, copy the startup command, paste it into the original startup directory, and run it. The gateway restarts after the command completes.
Why can't I delete my gateway?
A gateway in the Running state cannot be deleted. Stop the gateway first, then log on with your Alibaba Cloud account to delete it.
