Grant Data Management (DMS) permission to access other Alibaba Cloud services on your behalf. After authorization, DMS can connect to and manage resources across services such as RDS, MaxCompute, and Object Storage Service (OSS).
Authorization is a one-time setup — once completed, all other accounts under the same Alibaba Cloud account do not need to repeat it.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
An Alibaba Cloud account, or a RAM user with the
AdministratorAccesspolicy attached
To view the permissions of a RAM user, see View the permissions of a RAM user. To grant permissions to a RAM user, see Grant permissions to a RAM user.
Authorization scope
Authorization only needs to be completed once:
If an Alibaba Cloud account completes the authorization, RAM users under that account do not need to authorize separately.
If a RAM user completes the authorization, the parent Alibaba Cloud account and other RAM users under that account do not need to authorize separately.
If you are using an Alibaba Cloud account, follow Authorize using an Alibaba Cloud account. If you are a RAM user, follow Authorize using a RAM user.
