Data Management:Manage alerts

Data Disaster Recovery is integrated with CloudMonitor. By setting alert rules for important metrics, you can be notified in a timely manner when metric data becomes abnormal, which helps you quickly locate and resolve faults.

Parameter

Description

Trigger conditions

incremental backup failure, backup gateway offline, data restoration failure, data restoration success, and full backup failure.

Alerting time

  • Backup failure: 11:00:00

  • Restoration success or failure: Alerts are sent immediately.

Alert contact

By default, alerts are sent to the alert contacts of your Alibaba Cloud account. You can also specify custom alert contacts. For more information, see Create an alert contact or an alert contact group.

Notification method

The following notification methods are supported. You can also customize notification methods.

  • Critical: Phone Call, Text Message, Email, and Webhook.

  • Warning: Text Message, Email, and Webhook. This is the default.

  • Info: Email and Webhook.

Enable an alert rule

If you have temporarily disabled an alert rule, you can re-enable it.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Event Center > System Event.

  3. Click Legacy Event Alert Rules to open the list of legacy event alert rules.

  4. Find and select the checkbox for the DBS_EVENT_RULE rule, and then click Enable.

  5. Click OK.

View alert history

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Event Center > System Event.

  3. On the Event Monitoring page, select Data Disaster Recovery from the product filter and click Search.

Modify an alert rule

You can modify an existing alert rule for Data Disaster Recovery if it no longer meets your needs, such as by changing its alert contacts or notification methods.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Event Center > System Event.

  3. Click Legacy Event Alert Rules to open the list of legacy event alert rules.

  4. Find the DBS_EVENT_RULE rule and click Modify in the Actions column.

  5. After you modify the settings, click OK.

Disable an alert rule

If you temporarily do not need to receive alerts for Data Disaster Recovery system events, you can disable the corresponding alert rule.

Important

Disabling an alert rule temporarily stops its notifications. You can re-enable the rule at any time. Proceed with caution.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Event Center > System Event.

  3. Click Legacy Event Alert Rules to open the list of legacy event alert rules.

  4. Find the DBS_EVENT_RULE rule and click Disable in the Actions column.

Delete an alert rule

After you delete the alert rule for Data Disaster Recovery system events, you will no longer receive notifications for these events.

Important

You cannot recover an alert rule after it is deleted. This action is permanent. Proceed with caution.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose Event Center > System Event.

  3. Click Legacy Event Alert Rules to open the list of legacy event alert rules.

  4. Find the DBS_EVENT_RULE rule and click Delete in the Actions column.

  • This legacy feature is no longer being updated and is being phased out. We recommend using the new event subscription feature. For information about how to create an event subscription, see Create an event subscription.
