Data Lake Formation:Cache fees

Last Updated:Oct 29, 2026

This topic describes pricing and capacity options for DLF general-purpose and high-performance caches and provides fee calculation examples.

General-purpose cache fees

The general-purpose cache is billed based on the configured capacity and billing duration, not on the amount of cached data or cache-hit traffic. You are charged for the configured capacity even when the cache is not full.

The minimum capacity you can purchase is 50 GB.

Pricing

Region

Fee calculation

Fee = Configured capacity (GB) × Hourly unit price (USD/GB/hour) × Billing duration (hours)

If you configure 50 GB of general-purpose cache in the China (Beijing) region for 720 consecutive hours, the fee is:

50 × 0.0001393056 × 720 = 5.0150016 USD, or approximately 5.02 USD when rounded to cents.

High-performance cache fees

High-performance cache is configured by region and cluster. Fees are based on the configured capacity and billing duration, not on the amount of data written to the cache.

The minimum capacity you can purchase is 3,380 GB, and you can increase capacity in increments of 3,380 GB. Available capacities include 3,380 GB, 6,760 GB, 10,140 GB, and so on.

Fee calculation

Fee = Configured capacity (GB) × Hourly unit price (USD/GB/hour) × Billing duration (hours)

If you configure 3,380 GB of high-performance cache in the China (Beijing) region, the hourly fee is:

3,380 × 0.000235 = 0.7943 USD.

For 720 consecutive hours, the total fee is:

3,380 × 0.000235 × 720 = 571.896 USD, or approximately 571.90 USD when rounded to cents.

FAQ

Do storage and request fees still apply after I enable a cache?

Cache fees are charged separately from fees for the underlying storage. Request fees depend on which requests are billable. A cache hit alone does not determine whether request fees are waived.
