Direct Mail:Address validation console guide

Last Updated:Mar 05, 2026

Use the address validation console

Go to the Direct Mail console and choose Send Email > Address Validation.

Note

This feature supports single and batch address validation.

1. Single address validation

Enter the email address that you want to validate.

Note

Click Validate. The system returns the following information about the email address:

  1. Status classification: The status of the email address, such as valid, invalid, or catch-all.

  2. Specific reason: For example, the mailbox does not exist.

  3. Service provider: For example, in the image above, the email service provider is Outlook.

  4. Mailbox type: Indicates whether it is a personal mailbox.

2. Batch address validation

You can upload a file with a list of email addresses to validate them in a batch.

The supported file formats are .csv, .xlsx, .xls, and .txt. Ensure that the email addresses in the file are correctly formatted.

After the file is uploaded, the number of parsed addresses is displayed. You can choose to remove duplicates. If you remove duplicates, the addresses in the result file are sorted alphabetically and may appear in a different order than in the original file.

After you submit the job, the addresses in the file are queued for validation. The validation time depends on the number of addresses from different email service providers in the list. Typically, validation is faster for major providers such as Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo. If the list contains many addresses from less common service providers, the validation may take longer.

When the validation is complete, the number of addresses in each category is displayed. Click the download button on the right to download the result file.

The result file records the validation result for each address, as shown in the following example.
