Direct Mail:Service interruption notice due to an IP address update for the Direct Mail Singapore domain

Last Updated:Oct 29, 2025

Dear users,

The IP address for the Direct Mail service domain in Singapore, smtpdm-ap-southeast-1.aliyun.com, has changed from 47.88.198.4 to 47.246.110.138. We have noticed that your service is still sending emails using the old IP address: 47.88.198.4. The old IP address, 47.88.198.4, will be taken offline after 10:00:00 on April 8, 2024. After this time, you will no longer be able to send emails using the old IP address. Update your Direct Mail program to connect to the new IP address, 47.246.110.138, as soon as possible.

This issue can occur if your program has cached the old IP address or if your service host is configured with a forced domain name resolution. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Run the dig smtpdm-ap-southeast-1.aliyun.com command to verify that it returns the new IP address: 47.246.110.138. If the command returns the old IP address, run the cat /etc/hosts command to check if a forced resolution is bound to smtpdm-ap-southeast-1.aliyun.com. If a binding exists, delete it. If no forced host binding is configured, contact your network administrator to check for any forced DNS resolution settings.

  1. After you confirm that the dig smtpdm-ap-southeast-1.aliyun.com command returns the new IP address, 47.246.110.138, restart the service process. This clears the old IP address from your program's cache.

  1. If the service still fails to connect to the new IP address, 47.246.110.138, after you restart it, contact your network administrator. Ask them to check if the IP address 47.246.110.138 and ports 25, 465, and 80 need to be added to your network's allowlist.

  1. If you still cannot send emails after you complete these steps, contact the Direct Mail service team for assistance by sending an email to dm-support@alibaba-inc.com.
