Last Updated:Mar 24, 2025

This topic provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding the billing methods for Dedicated Host (DDH).

Do I need to pay for the ECS instances running on a dedicated host?

You are not charged for the vCPU, memory, and local storage of the ECS instances. However, you are charged for the cloud disks, public bandwidth, images, and snapshots of the instance. For more information, see Billing overview.

How do I check the traffic usage of an ECS instance on a dedicated host?

The method for querying traffic usage details of an ECS instance varies with the public IP address type.

Static public IP address

  1. Log on to the Expenses and Cost console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Bills > Bill Details.

  3. View the traffic usage details.

To view the traffic usage details, export them as a CSV file. On the Bill Details page, click the View Usage Details tab and configure the following settings.

    Description

    Product

    Select Elastic Compute Service (ECS).

    Billable Item

    Select InternetTraffic.

Only traffic usage of one calendar month can be queried each time. For example, if the start time is 2024-07-01, the end time can be up to 2027-07-31. 2024-08-01 cannot be selected.

    Time Unit

    Select Hour.

Click Export CSV. The system will automatically open the Export Record page. When the record status changes from Generating to Successful, click Download in the Actions column to export the file.

If you need to check the traffic usage of a particular ECS instance, you can locate the ECS instance in the CSV file by using the resource instance identifier.

If you want to continue using a dedicated host that have expired, you must renew it. Otherwise, the dedicated host and the ECS instances on it will be automatically stopped. For more information, see Dedicated host billing.

If your account has been suspended due to overdue payments, you must submit a ticket and settle the payments before you can resume using the services.
