Due to changes in rules of Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA Forum), the success rate of automatic renewal of free certificates continuously decreases. Therefore, Alibaba Cloud Dynamic Route for CDN (DCDN) will terminate automatic renewal of existing free certificates at 00:00 on April 1, 2023. If you use free SSL certificates, you can use the solution described in this topic.

Background information: DCDN stopped taking the requests for free certificates on August 31, 2021. New users cannot apply for free certificates any more. However, existing free certificates are automatically renewed.
Changes: Due to changes in rules of CA Forum, the success rate of automatic renewal of free certificates continuously decreases. Therefore, Alibaba Cloud DCDN will terminate automatic renewal of existing free certificates at 00:00 on April 1, 2023. If your domain names still use free certificates provided by Alibaba Cloud DCDN, you must modify the certificate settings before the certificates expire and upload your own certificates. For more information, see Configure an SSL certificate.
How do I check whether a domain name uses a free certificate?
- Log on to the DCDN console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names.
- On the Domain Names page, find the domain name that you want to manage and click Configure.
- In the left-side navigation pane of the specified domain, click HTTPS Settings.
- On the page that appears, view the certificate type.
If Certificate Source is set to Free Certificate, the certificate is a free certificate that was applied for by using the Alibaba Cloud DCDN console.
Solution
You can apply for a certificate from another SSL certificate authority, download the certificate, and manually configure the SSL certificate for the domain name that is accelerated by DCDN. For more information, see Configure an SSL certificate.
