DataWorks:Recycle bin

Last Updated:Feb 19, 2025

Data Studio provides a recycle bin to store all deleted nodes, workflows, tables, and resources in the current workspace. You can restore or permanently delete the nodes, workflows, tables, and resources.

Usage notes

  • If a node, workflow, resource, or function is restored from the recycle bin, the creator, creation time, modifier, and modification time of the deleted object are also changed.

  • Take note of the following items when you undeploy a node that is deployed to the production environment in Data Studio:

    • If you confirm to delete the node when you undeploy the node, the node is moved to the recycle bin.

    • If you skip to delete the node when you undeploy the node, the node is not moved to the recycle bin and the node ID is left empty.

  • The following table describes the conditions that determine whether a deleted object is moved to the recycle bin:

    Moved to the recycle bin

Not moved to the recycle bin

Objects that are deleted from the following locations are moved to the recycle bin:

    • DataStudio: the nodes and workflows deleted from the Workspace Directories section of the DATASTUDIO pane

    • Manual: the workflows and nodes deleted from the Manual Triggered Workflows and Manual Triggered Tasks sections of the MANUALLY TRIGGERED OBJECTS pane

    • SQL Script Templates: the script templates deleted from the Workspace SQL Script Templates section of the SQL SCRIPT TEMPLATES pane

    • Resource Management: the resources and functions deleted from the RESOURCE MANAGEMENT pane

    Note

If an object to be deleted is located in a directory, the directory is not displayed in the recycle bin when you delete the object and the directory. When you restore the object from the recycle bin, the directory is automatically restored.

Objects that are deleted from the following locations are not moved to the recycle bin:

    • DataStudio: the objects deleted from the Personal Directory section of the DATASTUDIO pane:

      • Files in the My Files directory.

      • On-premises folders and files in these folders that are added by clicking the image icon.

        Note

If files in these folders are deleted from Data Studio, the files are also deleted from your on-premises device and are not moved to the recycle bin of your on-premises device.

      • Files in the File Storage NAS (NAS) file system that is mounted to a personal development environment. The default mount target of the NAS file system is /mnt/data.

        Note

If you enable the recycle bin feature in the NAS console, the deleted files can be found in the recycle bin of the NAS file system.

      • Files in the built-in storage space of a personal development environment, that is, the files stored in the /mnt/workspace directory.

    • Empty directories at any locations.

    • Data Catalog: tables and views.
