To complete this experiment, make sure that MaxCompute, DataWorks, and Platform for AI are activated for your Alibaba Cloud account.
Prerequisites
Background information
This experiment uses the following Alibaba Cloud products:
Activate MaxCompute
If you have already activated MaxCompute, you can skip this step.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud website, click Logon/Register in the upper-right corner, and enter your Alibaba Cloud account and password.
Hover over Products in the top menu bar, and then click to go to the MaxCompute product page.
Click Activate Now.
On the purchase page, select a Region, select the Terms of Service check box, and click Confirm Order and Pay.
NoteThe purchase page defaults to MaxCompute Standard Edition (Pay-As-You-Go) and DataWorks Basic Edition.
MaxCompute uses DataWorks for project management and query editing. Therefore, you must activate DataWorks at the same time. DataWorks Basic Edition is free to activate. No fees are incurred if you do not use data integration or run scheduled tasks.
When you select a region, consider its proximity to your other Alibaba Cloud products, such as your ECS instances or data.
Create a workspace
Log on to the DataWorks console using your root account.
On the Workspaces page, click Create Workspace on the right.
In the Create Workspace dialog box, configure the parameters and click Submit.
