DataWorks:Notice on the discontinuation of DataWorks cross-workspace cloning

Last Updated:May 20, 2024

Dear DataWorks users:

The cross-workspace cloning feature will stop providing services from July 30, 2024. Deploy Center will provide better cross-workspace deployment capabilities for you. Deploy Center provides migration plans for existing clone packages and compute engine mappings. For more information, see Migrate historical data for cross-workspace cloning to Deploy Center with one click in DataWorks.

Key time information

  • On or before July 20, 2024, you can still use the cross-workspace cloning feature to create a clone package and clone selected tasks.

    • From April 30, 2024, DataWorks can automatically generate a deployment environment based on the default environment migration logic.

    • From June 30, 2024, DataWorks will allow you to migrate cross-workspace clone packages to Deploy Center. You can manually migrate historical clone packages and compute engine configurations in the cross-workspace clone environment to Deploy Center.

  • After July 20, 2024, you can no longer use the cross-workspace cloning feature to perform operations such as creation, modification, and deletion. However, you can still view clone packages and the tasks that you want to clone until the cross-workspace cloning page is removed. If you do not manually migrate data, DataWorks will migrate historical clone packages and compute engine configurations in the cross-workspace clone environment to Deploy Center based on the default migration logic.
