Measurement unit

Procedure

1. Go to the Dimensional Modeling page.
2. Go to the Measurement Unit page.
   1. In the top navigation bar of the Dimensional Modeling page, click Data Standard.
   2. In the left-side navigation pane of the page that appears, click Measurement Unit.
3. Create a measurement unit.
   1. In the Measurement Unit pane of the Measurement Unit page, right-click a measurement unit category and select Create Measurement Unit.
      DataWorks provides the following measurement unit categories: Currency, Quantifier, Proportion, Ranking, and Time.
   2. In the Create Measurement Unit dialog box, configure the parameters.
      

      Parameter	Description
      Abbreviation	The abbreviation of the name for the measurement unit. The abbreviation cannot exceed 128 characters in length and can contain lowercase letters, digits, and underscores (_). The abbreviation must start with a lowercase letter.
      Name	The name of the measurement unit. The name cannot exceed 2,048 characters in length and can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), and ampersands (&). The name must start with a letter or digit.
      Display Name	The display name of the measurement unit. The display name cannot exceed 2,048 characters in length and can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), ampersands (&), and parentheses (). The display name must start with a letter or digit.
      Category	The measurement unit category. Valid values: Currency, Quantifier, Proportion, Ranking, and Time.

   3. Click OK.
      After a measurement unit is created, you can view the measurement unit in the Measurement Unit pane.
