DataV:Getting started

Last Updated:Apr 27, 2023

DataV is designed to help more people see the charm of data visualization and help non-professional engineers easily build professional-level visualization applications through graphical interfaces to meet the display requirements of various businesses such as conferences and exhibitions, business monitoring, risk warning, and geographic information analysis. This topic describes the features and experience of DataV.

Overview

DataV will provide you with the following functional services:

  • My Visualization

    • Create visual applications: DataV allows you to create templates and blank visual applications on PCs and mobile terminals. You can also create visual applications by using image recognition.

    • Manage visual applications: On the My Visualizations page, you can group, sort, search, edit, rename, copy, delete, share, preview, and publish visual applications.

    • Manage the canvas editor: In the canvas editor of the editing visualization application, set the basic style of the screen, add components, and configure the component layout and content in the canvas. Use the component coordinates and auxiliary lines to switch the view and position of the component layer. Use the smart theme and one-click beautification function in the beautification toolbox to configure the filter effect and search the layers in the canvas in the toolbar.

    • Manage Blueprint Editor: On the Blueprint Editor page, you can define interactions between layers by using visual lines. This helps you manage the interactions between multiple components in your application.

  • My Data

    • Data Source Management: In the Data Source Management panel, you can configure a database whitelist, add multiple types of data sources, and edit, filter, sort, and delete the added data sources.

    • Datasets: In the Datasets page, you can add data sources, add datasets, edit, filter, sort, and delete datasets.

    • Code snippet management: On the Code Snippet Management page, you can create, edit, rename, delete, and sort code snippets. The created code snippets can be referenced through the right-click menu when editing filters.

  • My Assets

    • My block: A block is a black box tool based on basic component encapsulation. It can define internal and external Data Transmission Service. It can encapsulate business-related component styles, component layouts, default data (excluding data sources except static data and APIs) and blueprint logic. It can define business-related block data interfaces externally.

    • Design assets: Design assets are design elements, including images, videos, and models, that are used to enhance the visual effects of visual applications. The design asset management function can help users better manage their own design assets, realize asset classification, reuse and sharing, and improve the efficiency and effect of visual application design.

    • Widget Favorites: You can add widgets in the canvas editor to favorites. You can call the widgets in the Favorites section at any time. The widgets are displayed in the Favorites panel.

    • My Widget Packages: On the My Widget Packages page, you can create and edit widgets, upload developed widgets to the widgets for management, and authorize specific users to share widgets.

  • Workspace

    • Add a workspace: Each new workspace corresponds to a new DataV console. When you add a workspace, you can configure the name, project quota, favorites quota, and 3D city quota of the workspace.

    • Add RAM User: Add a RAM user to a workspace and grant the permissions of the RAM user to the workspace. You can set the permissions to Administrator or Developer.

    • Workspace configuration: On the Workspace Management page, you can customize the basic information configuration and member management configuration in the workspace. You can configure the configurations to manage different types of visual applications and the permissions of workspaces.
