Map data formats
DataV map widgets use the GCJ-02 coordinate system and the GeoJSON geographic data format. You can use a coordinate picker to quickly obtain GCJ-02 coordinates for your maps.
GCJ-02 coordinate system
DataV map widgets primarily use the GCJ-02 coordinate system. GCJ-02 is a coordinate system for geographic information systems (GIS) developed by the China State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (Guojia Cehui Ju). It is an encryption algorithm that applies a random bias to latitude and longitude data. All map systems published in mainland China, including online maps, must use GCJ-02 to encrypt geographic locations.
GeoJSON format
DataV map widgets primarily use the GeoJSON geographic data format.
- GeoJSON is a geospatial data exchange format based on JavaScript Object Notation.
- Use the online GeoJSON editor DataV.GeoAtlas to obtain or edit geographic data in GeoJSON format.
Coordinate picker—Google Maps
Use the Google Maps coordinate picker to convert a detailed address into precise coordinates based on the GCJ-02 coordinate system.
For example, enter Hangzhou, Zhejiang on the left side of the page. Then, right-click West Lake Scenic Area on the map and select What's here? to obtain the detailed coordinates for West Lake.
