Before you create a project for data development, you must set the compute engine for the Dataphin instance. After you set the compute engine, you can add a compute source to the project to provide compute and storage resources. This topic describes how to set StarRocks as the compute engine for the Dataphin system.
Prerequisites
The system metadata must be initialized. For more information, see Use StarRocks as the metadata warehouse and compute engine for metadata warehouse initialization.
When you set the compute engine for Dataphin to StarRocks, you must also set the metadata warehouse to StarRocks.
Permissions
All system roles, except for Tag Specialist and Business Member, and custom global roles that have the Cluster Management - View permission can manage compute clusters.
Procedure
On the Dataphin homepage, choose Management Center > System Settings from the top menu bar.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Tenant Settings > Compute Settings.
On the Compute Settings page, select StarRocks.
Click Save.
What to do next
After you set the compute engine for the Dataphin instance, you can click Manage Compute Cluster to open the Manage StarRocks Cluster dialog box, where you can create or manage a StarRocks cluster. For more information, see Create and manage a StarRocks cluster.
You can also add compute sources to existing projects to provide them with compute and storage resources. For information about how to create a project and add a compute source, see Create a general project.
