Dataphin:Create and manage data classification

Data classification defines the security level of data within a security realm. You can create, view, edit, and delete data classifications.

Create a new data classification

  1. On the Dataphin home page, select Administration > Data Security from the top menu bar.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, select General Configuration > Data Sensitivity Level. On the Data Sensitivity Level page, click the Create Data Classification button.

  3. In the Create Data Classification dialog box, enter the required parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Classification Name

    The name of the data classification. Supports Chinese characters, letters, numbers, or underscores (_), and must not exceed 128 characters.

    Classification Abbreviation

    The abbreviation of the data classification. Supports Chinese characters, letters, numbers, or underscores (_), and must not exceed 64 characters.

    Sensitivity Level

    The sensitivity level of the data classification. Supports integers from 1 to 100.

    Classification Description

    The description of the data classification. Supports Chinese characters, letters, numbers, or underscores (_), and must not exceed 2048 characters.

  4. Click OK to create the data classification.

View data classification

  1. On the Data Sensitivity Level page, you can view existing data classifications and their details, including classification level, name, updater, update time, and description.

  2. You can search for data classifications using the name as a keyword.

  3. At the bottom of each data classification card, the following actions are available.

    Edit

    Click the Edit icon. In the Edit Data Classification dialog box, modify the classification name and description. Click OK to save the changes.

    Delete

    Click the Delete icon. In the Delete Data Classification dialog box, click OK to delete the data classification.

    A data classification that is referenced by a detection rule cannot be deleted.
