Last Updated:Jan 21, 2025

Dataphin provides settings for a maintenance status page. To carry out maintenance or upgrade tasks on Dataphin, enable the maintenance status page beforehand. This will place the system in maintenance mode, preventing users from performing any operations. This topic outlines the procedures for initiating and cancelling the maintenance status page, as well as reviewing the historical maintenance records.

Background information

  • Only accounts with system administrator or super administrator roles are authorized to initiate or cancel the maintenance status in Dataphin.

  • Only accounts with system administrator or super administrator roles can access the historical maintenance records.

    • Maintenance: This mode puts the system into maintenance status, restricting user access and operations. The super administrator can revert the system to normal status at any time, restoring access. It is advisable to select this option during system upgrades or for temporary security measures.

    • Cross-tenant publishing: This mode allows cross-tenant publishing users to export files for publishing or publish objects after import. Users without cross-tenant publishing permissions will face the following restrictions:

They will have access only to the Data Integration, Data Development, Deployment Center, Task Maintenance, SQL Query, Notebook, Asset Checklist, and Permission Management modules.

      • Data Integration:

        • Basic Project: Does not support submitting, taking offline, or deleting integration tasks, nor does it support full database migration tasks being taken offline.

        • Dev-Prod Project: The Prod environment has the same restrictions as the Basic project, while the Dev environment does not support publishing integration tasks or taking full database migration tasks offline.

      • Data Development:

        • Basic Project:

          • Does not support saving, submitting, taking offline, or deleting operations for logical dimension tables, logical fact tables, atomic metrics, business filters, metrics, and logical aggregate tables.

          • Table management does not allow the creation, editing, or deletion of physical tables.

          • Does not support submitting, taking offline, or deleting tasks for computing tasks and sync tasks.

          • Does not support submitting, taking offline, or deleting templates for computing templates.

          • Does not allow the creation, editing, or deletion of resources and functions.

        • Dev-Prod Project: The Prod environment has the same restrictions as the Basic project; the Dev environment prohibits the following:

          • Does not support taking offline or deleting operations for logical dimension tables, logical fact tables, atomic metrics, business filters, metrics, and logical aggregate tables.

          • Does not support taking offline or deleting templates for computing templates.

          • Does not support publishing or batch publishing in pending records, nor republishing in published records.

      • Task Maintenance: Does not support taking offline real-time instances.

      • Analysis Platform: Access to manual tables is not supported; deletion of tables in My Analysis Platform Tables is not permitted.

      Note

Once initiated, the super administrator can revert the system to normal status, lifting the restrictions mentioned above.
