Database Autonomy Service (DAS) allows you to view the performance trends of database instances based on a variety of performance metrics and customize charts. DAS provides diagnostics capabilities to help you understand the health status of your instances. DAS can detect events generated by instances at the earliest opportunity, perform automatic diagnostics on the events, and offer root cause analysis and suggestions. DAS also allows you to select a time range and manually perform diagnostics on instances in the specified time range.

Prerequisites

The database instance that you want to manage is connected to DAS and is in the Accessed state.

Background information

The metrics supported by DAS performance trend diagnostics include TPS, QPS, and throughput.

Procedure

You can view the performance trend of a specific metric in a time range.

  1. Log on to the DAS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance Monitoring.
  3. On the page that appears, find the database instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID. The instance details page appears.
  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Dashboard.
    • On the Performance Trends tab, view the performance trend charts in a time range based on the metrics.
      • Click More Metrics to select the metrics and view their performance trends.
Note You can click the Question mark icon to the right of the metric name in a performance trend chart to view details of the metric.
      • In the performance trend chart of a metric, drag and select a time range and click Diagnose to view the performance trend of the metric within the time range.
      • Click Details in the performance trend chart of a metric to zoom in the performance trend chart. In this case, you can change the time range to view the performance trend of the metric in the specified time range.
      • Select one or more levels of events to be displayed. If the events at the selected levels are detected, the system displays these events in the performance trend chart of the metrics.

Click the color block corresponding to the events at the specified level in the performance trend chart to view the diagnosis in the event details.

    • On the Performance Trend Comparison tab, view the comparison of performance trends for a metric within different time ranges.

Click More Metrics to select the metrics and view the comparison of their performance trends.

    • On the Custom Chart tab, create dashboards to display the performance metrics that you want to view. When you create a chart, you can specify multiple performance metrics that you want the chart to display. This way, you can analyze metrics that are displayed on the dashboards and troubleshoot performance issues.
Note You must create dashboards before you create charts. For more information, see Monitoring dashboards.
    • On the Exception Detection tab, view the results of exception detection and prediction for core metrics. For more information, see Performance anomaly detection.

Click More Metrics and select the metrics on which you want to perform exception detection.

    • On the Instance Topology tab, view the topology of the instance.
