    Data Transport:Create a Data Transport order

    You can create an order based on the number of days for which a device is leased or the size of data that you want to migrate. This topic describes how to create and configure a Data Transport order for data migration.

    1. Log on to the Data Migration console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Data Transport > Lightning Cube.

    2. Click Create Data Transport Order to open the order configuration page.

    3. Configure the Sales Model parameter.

      You can select Lease Days or Data Volume based on your business requirements.

    4. Configure the parameters related to the device.

      Select Data Transport III (4U) as required and follow the instructions to configure the device information.

    5. Configure the Cloud Storage Type parameter.

      • If you select OSS, data upload and verification requests are sent to Object Storage Service (OSS) when you migrate data to the cloud. Some API operation calling fees are incurred. All inbound traffic consumed is free of charge. For more information about API operation calling fees in OSS, see API operation calling fees.

      • If you select NAS, take note of the following items:

        • Data is not directly migrated to File Storage NAS (NAS). Data must be migrated to OSS for temporary storage and then transferred to NAS. To transfer data to NAS, you can use the online migration service or the ossutil tool.

        • If you transfer data in the same region over the internal network, you are charged for OSS temporary storage and traffic consumed by sending requests. If you transfer data over the Internet, you are charged for outbound traffic over the Internet. For more information about OSS fees, see Billing overview.

    6. Configure the On-cloud Storage Region parameter.

      Select the region in which the destination OSS bucket resides.

    7. Configure the Data Source Type parameter.

      Select a data source type. If errors occur subsequently, Alibaba Cloud technical support can troubleshoot the errors based on the selected data source type.

    8. Configure the Switch Type, Available Switch Ports, and Switch Port Type parameters.

    9. Configure the Contact Name, Contact Number, and Data Source Address parameters.

    10. Read and select Notice.

    11. Configure the Migrate At parameter. Then, configure the Lease Days or Migrated Data Volume parameter.

      Important

      The value specified by the Migrate At parameter is not the actual device arrival date. You must start migration based on the actual arrival date. The lease time starts 24 hours after you receive the Data Transport device, and ends when you notify Alibaba Cloud technical support to retrieve the device. The time consumed for device delivery and shipment is not calculated for charging.

    12. After you configure all required parameters, click Buy Now.
