This topic describes how to enable throttling for data migration in Data Transmission Service (DTS).

Usage notes

If you modify the objects to be synchronized, the subtasks generated after you modify the objects to be synchronized do not inherit the throttling configuration of the task in the full synchronization stage.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Data Migration Tasks page.
    1. Log on to the Data Management (DMS) console.
    2. In the top navigation bar, click DTS.
    3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose DTS (DTS) > Data Migration.
  2. From the drop-down list next to Data Migration Tasks, select the region in which your data migration instance resides.
Note If you use the new DTS console, select the region in which the data migration instance resides in the upper-left corner.
  3. On the Data Migration Tasks page, click the ID of the data migration instance for which you want to enable throttling.
  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Performance Monitoring.
    • Enable throttling for full data migration: On the Performance of Full Data Migration tab, click Enable Throttling for Full Data Migration. In the Enable Throttling for Full Data Migration dialog box, enable throttling and modify the required parameters based on your business requirements. Full Data Migration
Note You can also enable throttling for full data migration in the DTS console. For more information, see Enable throttling for full data migration.
    • Enable throttling for incremental data migration: On the Performance of Incremental Data Migration tab, click Enable Throttling for Incremental Data Migration. In the Enable Throttling for Incremental Data Migration dialog box, enable throttling and modify the required parameters based on your business requirements. Incremental Data Migration
Note You can click the Question mark icon icon to view the description of each parameter.
