This topic describes how to migrate data from a Tencent Cloud Object Storage (COS) bucket to an Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket.
For information about how to migrate data from a Tencent COS bucket to an Alibaba Cloud OSS bucket over an Express Connect circuit, see Overview.
Overview
Data Online Migration provides a data transfer channel between storage products. By using Data Online Migration, you can easily migrate third-party data to OSS, or perform flexible data migration between OSS buckets.
To migrate data by using Data Online Migration, you only need to enter the source data address and the destination OSS address in the console and create a migration task. After the migration starts, you can manage the task in the console and view details such as the migration progress and traffic.

Migration workflow

For data security and consistency, we recommend that you use HTTPS.
After the migration task is complete, be sure to verify data consistency between the source and the destination.
Verify that all of your data has been completely migrated to the destination before deleting the source data. If you delete the source data without verifying it, you are responsible for any resulting data loss.
Workflow for creating a migration task
The following figure shows the workflow for creating a migration task:

Data Online Migration allows you to migrate objects only from a COS V5 bucket to an OSS bucket. For more information about COS versions, see SDK version history. The information in the preceding link may be outdated due to changes in the original server and is for reference only.

When you read data from the source data address during a migration task, you are charged outbound Internet traffic fees by the storage service provider of the source data address.
