Data Management:Manage permissions

Last Updated:Feb 28, 2024

This topic describes how to grant users the permissions to query, export, and change databases and tables.

Usage note

  • If instances are managed in Security Collaboration mode, permissions on databases and tables are available.

  • If instances are not managed in Security Collaboration mode, users can only log on to the instances.

  • Data owners can grant and revoke user permissions on databases and tables that they own.

  • Administrators and database administrators (DBAs) can grant permissions on databases and tables to users that belong to the current Database Management (DMS) tenant and revoke the permissions.

Manage permissions on databases and tables by using the instance management feature

Manage permissions on databases and tables by using permission templates

Administrators or DBAs can create permission templates to manage databases and tables that serve similar purposes in batch. This improves ease-of-use and resolves the issue of duplicate authorization caused by large numbers of users and databases.

For more information, see Create a permission template.
