File gateways support only UTF-8 encoded file names when uploading files to Object Storage Service (OSS). Files with non-UTF-8 names cannot be uploaded.
Character set limitation
OSS requires all file names to be encoded in UTF-8. Files whose names use any other encoding cannot be stored in OSS. As a result, File Gateway can only upload files with UTF-8 encoded names.
Consequences of non-compliant file names
If a file with a non-UTF-8 name is written to a file gateway, the upload to OSS fails and the upload queue for that gateway is blocked. Resolving this issue requires manual cleanup by Alibaba Cloud support.
If non-UTF-8 files have already been written to a file gateway, submit a ticket to resolve the issue.
