This topic describes how to resolve mount failures for SMB shares on Windows Server 2019.
Problem
When you try to mount an SMB share, the operation fails as shown in the following figure.
Solution
On your local Windows client, press
Win+Rto open the Run dialog box, entergpedit.msc, and click OK.In the left-side navigation pane of the Local Group Policy Editor window, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation.
In the list of settings, double-click Enable insecure guest logons.
In the Enable insecure guest logons dialog box, select Enabled, and then click Apply.

Try mounting the SMB share again.
If the mount still fails, restart the Windows client to clear the cache, and then try again.
