The ignore deletions feature prevents a Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) file gateway from synchronizing file deletions to Object Storage Service (OSS). When ignore deletions is enabled, the files that you delete from the file gateway remain in OSS, and OSS retains a full backup of the data.
Scenarios
Enable ignore deletions on a CSG file gateway when both of the following conditions apply:
You need to delete files from the file gateway.
You need OSS to retain a full backup of the data.
Considerations
We recommend that you do not enable ignore deletions and the remote sync feature at the same time. If both features are enabled, deleted files may reappear.
