The pay-per-use model is suitable for one-time purchase products that do not require renewal. This topic describes how to list a Compute Nest service on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace as a pay-per-use product.
Prerequisites

You are registered as an independent software vendor (ISV) on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace. For more information, seeHow to apply to become an Alibaba Cloud Marketplace technology partner.

The service you want to publish is published in Compute Nest and is either a private service or a fully managed service. For more information, see Create a service.

(Optional) If you want to check for overdue payments for the product, integrate the
CheckOutLicenseAPI into your service. For more information, see Verify the validity period of a service instance.NoteThe verification API can be tested only after the category review is approved.
Publishing process for a marketplace product
The following figure shows the process of publishing a product on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

Procedure
Step 1: Select an online Compute Nest service
Log on to the Compute Nest console.

In the left navigation pane, choose My Services.

On the Created Services tab, select the service you want to publish to Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

Click the service name to go to the service details page. In the Sales Configuration section, click Associate Marketplace Product.
Step 2: Configure sales information
In the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace console, configure the product sales information across the following tabs.

On the Product access information tab, enter the product information and click Next.

Select SaaS.
Product name
Enter a custom product name.
SaaS Acceleration Program
Optional. Select an acceleration plan ID that is not yet associated with a product.
Application activation method
Select Compute Nest deployment.
Service type
Select the service type for Compute Nest deployment. Compute Nest supports Compute Nest private service and Compute Nest fully managed service.

For each service type, the system loads the service IDs that you configured in Compute Nest.

Each product maps to a unique service ID.

An associated template cannot be reused.
Select service process template
Optional. We recommend that you select a public template. If no public templates are suitable, you can select a private template.

On the Basic product information tab, specify the parameters and click Next.

Description
Product image
Upload a logo for the product. The logo must be a transparent PNG image. The recommended size is 290 × 290 pixels. The image cannot exceed 7.5 MB in size.
Product introduction
Enter a brief product introduction. This information is displayed on the product list page of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace. The introduction should be 300 words or less.
Product highlights
Describe the core features and services of the product and key differentiators from similar products. The description must not exceed 1,000 words.
Product details
Provide a detailed description of the product's features, services, characteristics, and usage workflow.
Version features and screenshots
Optional. Describe and compare different versions of the product. You can also upload screenshots for different versions to help users better understand the features of each version.
Product screenshots
Optional. Upload screenshots of the product in use.
Product live stream ID
Optional. Enter the ID to bind a product live stream to your product. After binding, your live stream appears on the product details page.
Short product video
Optional. Upload a short video that introduces the product. After the video is uploaded, it appears on the product details page.
Product qualifications
Optional. Upload up to six images of relevant product qualifications. Each image cannot exceed 2 MB.
Customer use cases
Optional. Provide successful use cases for the product.
User guide
Upload a user guide for the product. The operations team reviews this document closely. The guide must be in PDF format and no larger than 10 MB.
After-sales support scope
Describe the scope of after-sales support, including service hours, business areas covered, and fee structure.

On the Business information tab, specify the parameters and click Next.

Optional. Specify whether your product supports service regions. If it does, customers can select a region when they place an order.
Product category
Select the category for your product.
Custom tags
Optional. Add tags that are relevant to your product to help customers find it by tag.
Product SEO information
Set relevant keywords and a description for the product to improve its search engine indexing.

On the Sales information tab, specify the parameters and click Next.

Specify whether the product is available only to enterprise customers.
Specification name
Set the name of the product specification.
Specification pricing
Set the price of the product.
Validity period
Set the validity period of the product.
NoteThis is the validity period of the product specification after purchase. The product cannot be renewed after it expires.
Additional billing items
Add additional billing items if the product price depends on factors like version, quantity, or other custom attributes, instead of a single fixed fee.
For example, if the product is sold by version with multiple accounts, configure a Quantity billing module. If the product is sold by version with different sales regions, configure an Enumeration billing module.
Click Add billing modules. In the dialog box, click Add billing modules. Then configure the billing items in the additional billing item settings. The parameter settings for additional billing items are as follows.

If the type of an additional billing item is Quantity, configure the following parameters.

Pricing method: Select Fixed pricing or Tiered pricing.

Minimum order quantity setting: Specify whether to set a minimum order quantity. If your service instance requires a minimum number of resources, we recommend that you select Settings.

Minimum order quantity: Set the minimum order quantity for the resource.
This parameter is available only when Minimum order quantity setting is set to Settings.

Tiered pricing: Set the relationship between purchase quantity and price.
This parameter is available only when Pricing method is set to Tiered pricing.

New purchase price: Set the unit price for newly purchased resources.
This parameter is available only when Minimum order quantity setting is set to Settings.

Renewal price: Set the unit price for renewed resources.
This parameter is available only when Minimum order quantity setting is set to Settings.

If the type of an additional billing item is Enumeration, in the Enumeration Pricing area, set different pricing methods based on version and region.
Note-
The Production parameter must match the parameter name in the service template to enable linkage. When linked, if a customer modifies the template parameter's value during checkout, the total price adjusts automatically based on the billing item's configuration.

The billing item name is for display purposes on the product sales page and can be customized.

On the Agreement information tab, specify the parameters and click Next.

Product agreement
This is the agreement between you and the end customer. Customers must accept this agreement to place an order. You can modify the template provided by Alibaba Cloud Marketplace or import your own template.
Technical filing
Follow the on-screen instructions to provide the compliance information for the product.

In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm.
After you submit, the product review process starts automatically.
Step 3: Submit for review and self-test

After you submit all information, Alibaba Cloud Marketplace starts a category review for the product.
If the product fails this review, you must modify and resubmit it.

After the product passes the category review, you must self-test it.

After the category review is approved, return to the service details page in the Compute Nest console to bind the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace product specification. This binding is required for the self-test to pass.
NoteIf you have integrated the CheckOutLicense API, perform a test.

Go to the details page of the service that you published to Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

In the Basic Information section, next to Sales Status, click Configure Now.

On the Sales Configuration tab, click Associate, and then for the product specification you want to configure, select the corresponding service specification and template.

After the self-test is complete, you can submit the product for functional review. Once this review passes, the product is automatically listed on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
View the product
After the product is published, the product details page on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace shows the Compute Nest service badge. This indicates that your software is deployed to Alibaba Cloud through a Compute Nest service, ensuring service stability.
When a user purchases the software, the order confirmation page in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace displays the cloud resource configuration that you specified in the Compute Nest service template and the corresponding fees. Alibaba Cloud Marketplace later settles the software fees with you. Fees for cloud resource consumption are charged to the user's account during deployment and are not collected when the user confirms the software order.
