O&M items are the O&M notifications that you need to handle. This topic describes how to handle O&M items.
Background information
O&M items are automatically created by Compute Nest for service instances after service providers release O&M announcements for service updates and vulnerability fixes.
The O&M items pending to be handled are highlighted on the Service Instance page.
The severity level of an O&M item can be critical, high, medium, or low.
O&M items are categorized into the following types: update notification and vulnerability fix.
Procedure
Log on to the Compute Nest console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Service Instance.
View O&M items.
You can view the information about O&M items by using one of the following methods:
View O&M items on the Service Instance page by performing the following steps:
NoteOnly O&M items pending to be handled are displayed on the Service Instance page.
Move the pointer over the notice and find the O&M item that you want to handle.
Click Handle Now. to go the O&M Items tab of the service instance details page.
On the O&M Items tab, view the information about the O&M items.
Alternatively, you can view O&M items on the service instance details page by performing the following steps:
On the Service Instance page, find the service instance that you want to manage and click its ID.
On the service instance details page, click the O&M Items tab.
On the O&M Items tab, view the information about the O&M items.
Find the O&M item that you want to manage and click View Details in the Operation column to go to the details page of the O&M item.
On the Solution tab, handle the O&M item based on the displayed information.
If the solution is to manually handle the O&M item, click the View icon in the Actions column to view the detailed solution and handle the O&M item based on the solution.
If the solution is to execute an OOS template, click the Execute icon in the Actions column and specify the required parameters based on the solution description. Click OK to execute the template.
On the Execution History tab, you can view the execution status of the O&M item. If the execution fails, you can click View Details in the Actions column to view the cause of the failure.
After the O&M item is handled, change the status of the O&M item from Pending to Resolved.
