This topic describes the configuration change feature of Compute Nest. Customers can change the configurations of cloud resources and network of a service instance. For services published to Alibaba Cloud Marketplace, customers can change configurations in the Compute Nest or Alibaba Cloud Marketplace console.

What is the purpose of configuration change?
Compute Nest provides the configuration change feature that allows customers to change the configurations of their service instances if the original configurations no longer meet their business requirements as their business develops. For example, customers can change the parameters of their resources.
What is configuration change?
When a customer creates a service instance, the customer is required to configure parameters or select a parameter set. Configuration change refers to modifying these parameters or changing the parameter set. To implement configuration changes for service instances, when a service provider creates a service, the service provider must enable the configuration change feature and configure the related settings, such as the change type and parameters that can be modified.
Change the configurations of cloud resources
When a service provider creates a service, the service provider can enable the configuration change feature and configure the related settings. This way, after a customer creates a service instance, if the specified parameter configurations or the selected parameter set of the service instance do not meet the business requirements, the customer can change the configurations of the service instance based on the business requirements. After the customer changes the configurations of the cloud resources, the cloud resource fees are correspondingly changed. On the configuration change page in the Compute Nest console, the customer can preview the fees charged after the change. If the cloud resources are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, the new pay-as-you-go prices are displayed. If the cloud resources are billed on a subscription basis, the price difference is displayed. Change the configurations of service instances in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace
After a service is published to Alibaba Cloud Marketplace, configuration changes to the service instances are performed in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace. In this case, the resource fee and the software fee are charged for the configuration changes to a service instance. If a customer changes the configurations of a private service instance, the resource fee and the software fee (if any) are displayed on the configuration change page, and the customer needs to pay both fees. If a customer changes the configurations of a fully managed service instance, only the software fee is displayed, and the customer needs to pay only the software fee. Change network configurations
Compute Nest allows customers to change the private network access configurations of fully managed service instances based on their business requirements. If a customer creates a service instance based on a fully managed service that supports private connections such as PrivateLink or virtual private cloud (VPC) peering connections, the customer can add, remove, or modify a private connection for the service instance.
