A service instance is a service entity that is created by a customer based on a Compute Nest service. This topic describes how to create a private service instance as a customer.
Background information
If your service provider provides the deployment URL of the Compute Nest service for you, you can use the URL to create a service instance. For more information, see the Create a service instance in the Compute Nest console section of this topic.
If you find the product that is associated with the Compute Nest service on the homepage of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace or you have obtained the product URL from your service provider, you can create a service instance in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace. For more information, see the Create a service instance in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace section of this topic.
This topic describes how to deploy a general service instance. For more information about how to deploy a service instance of a specific type, see the corresponding deployment documentation.
Create a service instance in the Compute Nest console
Log on to the Compute Nest console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Service Catalog. On the Service Catalog page, find the service based on which you want to create a service instance and click Create.
You can also click the service name to go to the service details page and view the deployment document and architecture of the service instance.
Configure the service instance.
The service instance parameters that you need to configure vary based on the service type. The parameters displayed in the console prevail. If you require further assistance, contact your service provider.
Click Next: Confirm Order. On the information confirmation page, check the service instance information and price.
Click Create Now.
After the service instance is created, click View Service to view the status of the service instance on the Service Instance page.
If the service instance is in the Deploying state, the service instance is being created.
If the service instance is in the Deployed state, the service instance is created.
If the service instance is in the Deployment Failed state, the service instance fails to be created. You can click the name of the service instance to go to the service instance details page and view the failure cause.
Create a service instance in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace
Go to the product details page by using one of the following methods:
Find the product in Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
Go to the homepage of Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
Enter the name of the product that you want to purchase in the search box and click the search icon.
Find the product that you want to purchase and click the product.
Obtain the URL of the associated product from your service provider and go to the page to which the URL redirects.
On the product details page, specify product specifications and click Buy Now.
If a product is associated with a Compute Nest service, a description related to the Compute Nest service is displayed on this page.
In the Confirm Order step, confirm the product information, configure cloud resources, and then complete the payment.
NoteThe parameters that you need to configure for cloud resources vary based on the service type. The parameters displayed in the console prevail. If you require further assistance, contact your service provider.
After the payment is complete, Compute Nest automatically starts to create a service instance. To view the deployment details of the service instance, perform the following steps:
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace console.
On the Order lists page, find the product that you purchased and click Go to Compute Nest Console in the Actions column.
