Compute Nest:Enable the hosted O&M feature for a private service

This topic describes how to enable the hosted O&M feature for a private service.

Background information

Compute Nest provides the hosted O&M feature that allows service providers to perform O&M operations on Alibaba Cloud resources of customers. This way, service providers can help customers manage O&M objects.

A service provider can enable the hosted O&M feature for a private service. When a customer creates a service instance in the private service for which the hosted O&M feature is enabled, the service provider is authorized to perform O&M operations on the Alibaba Cloud resources in the service instance.

Create a private service for which the hosted O&M feature is enabled

  1. Log on to the Compute Nest console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click My Services. On the Created Services tab of the My Services page, click Create Service.

  3. On the Create Service page, configure the service information.

    1. In the Select Service Creation Method section, select Custom Launch. In the Select Service Type section, select Private Service.

    2. Click Next: Configure Settings.

    3. On the Create Service page, configure the service information.

      1. In the Basic Information section, configure the basic service information.

      2. In the Service Deployment section, configure the resource information such as the region in which the service is deployed and the template content.

      3. In the Service O&M (Optional) section, configure the hosted O&M settings for the service.

        In the O&M section, select Obtain Permissions and select the O&M permissions of customers that you require from the drop-down list. For more information about O&M permissions, see O&M permissions.

  4. Click Create Service. In the dialog box that appears, select the check boxes and click OK.

Perform O&M operations

  1. Log on to the Compute Nest console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Service Instance.

  2. On the Service Instance page, click the Customer's Service Instances tab and then click the Private Service tab.

  3. On the Private Service tab, find the service that you want to manage and click Details in the Actions column.

  4. On the Service Instance Details page, click the Resources tab. On the Resources tab, find the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance that you want to manage and click the buttons in the Actions column to perform O&M operations on the service instance.
